Mustangs fall to Henryville in Conference Opener

Last night the Lady Mustangs Volleyball teams opened up their conference games taking on Henryville.  The JV team won in three sets 2-1.  Despite playing hard, the varsity team fell to Henryville in 4 sets 3-1.  Both teams return to action Tuesday night on the road at Switzerland County.

Varsity Tennis Continues to Roll on the Road

The Mustang Varsity boys tennis team traveled to South Central yesterday and earned a 4-1 win. Individual winners were Caleb Ellison at #1 singles, Noah Franklin at #2 singles,  AJ Walter at #3 singles, and Mason Huff and Fernando Diaz at #2 doubles.  Congratulations and good luck against Southwestern today.

The Mustang boys tennis team defeated Charlestown on the road yesterday 3-2.  Caleb Ellison was a #1 singles winner and Jacob Stricker, AJ Walter, Fernando Diaz, and Garrett Wilson were #1 and #2 doubles winners.  The Mustangs play at South Central today.

The Lady Mustang Volleyball teams both won last night against Doss High School.  JV won 2-0 and varsity won 3-1.  Both teams return to action tomorrow night with their conference opener back home at James Mathews Gymnasium against Henryville.

Varsity Tennis defeats Trinity Lutheran

The Mustang varsity boys tennis team played very well last night in beating Trinity Lutheran 4-1.  Caleb Ellison, Noah Franklin, and AJ Walter won at all three singles spots.  Mason Huff and Fernando Diaz also won at #2 doubles.  Coach Davis said that he was very pleased with his team’s play.  The Mustangs will be back in action on Friday …

Boys varsity fell short to Scottsburg in a tough day for the Mustangs.  #1 singles was a great match, but New Washington fell short.  The boys return to action today, August 31, at 5:30 against Trinity Lutheran.

The high school cross country team competed in their first meet of the year last night.  Olivia Graebe convincingly won the girls’ race and Hope Griffith was our second runner to place.  Leading the boys’ team to a second place team finished was Jesus Diaz in 5th place and Brandon Horton in 6th.  The Mustangs will be back in action …

Varsity Tennis hosts Madison

The Mustang varsity tennis team suffered a nail-biter of a loss last night to 3A Madison 3-2.  Caleb Ellison and Noah Franklin won at #1 and #2 singles but the Mustangs lost the other three courts including #3 singles which featured the closest match of the day with two tiebreaker sets.  They will travel to Scottsburg today.
